Ednalyn Fajardo

Candaba, Pampanga

To make education accessible during the pandemic, Edna transformed her family’s vehicle into a mobile classroom. The mobile classroom is equipped with learning materials, tables and chairs, a blackboard, a collapsible fence, and a sound system. She travels to resettlement areas and sets up the mobile classroom in open, shady areas where anyone, regardless of age, status, or gender, is welcome to join the class. To motivate learners to attend, she provides merienda using her own resources. Teacher Edna also believes that education should be available to everyone, including children in conflict with the law, rebels, inmates, and drug users who surrendered under the Tokhang program.
